Grandma Winnie,

Your unconditional love and laughter flow through my mind like waves.
The air is thin down here since your journey to Heaven.
No words can express the way my heart breaks into pieces and hits the floor.
The memories I have of you are everlasting:
Baking all sorts of goodies that I would share with my friends.
Milo and tea at night with Jamaican bread.
Conversations on the back porch and in the kitchen like no others.
Cutting up chicken and rice and feeding me like a baby.
The hustle and bustle of traveling on the Subway from the Bronx to Manhattan to buy underwear.
The laughter that filled the air when you farted in the store without a care.
The candy dish under the coffee table that was always filled with mints.
The lasagna you made for me on my trips to New York.
The catering of my high school graduation party.
The money you gave me for my birthdays and college.
The emails between you and I over these past few years made my day and week, and I will forever cherish them.
The love and concern you showed for me up until your last moments on this Earth.
Like an orchid, you are love, beauty, and strength.
I love you Grandma Winnie, and I hope you are enjoying your new home.
