Thomas Belive

Thomas Joseph Belive, a resident of Pelham, New York, formerly of New Rochelle and Mt. Vernon, passed away on April 7th 2024 after a long convalescence from cancer surgery. He was seventy-four years old and was born in New Rochelle to Joseph H. Belive and Dorothy K. Belive. Thomas was the eldest of five children. He spent his formative years in New Rochelle. attending Blessed Sacrament Elementary and High Schools. He was also an alter boy at Blessed Sacrament Church.  Thomas pursued his passion for psychology and earned a degree from Iona College in 1971.

During his youth, Thomas cultivated interests in music, particularly piano, swimming and classical music.  Known for his refined palate, he was a wine connoisseur who thoroughly enjoyed entertaining guests. Thomas also had deep affection for animals, especially his cherished cats. He treasured his extended travels to Columbia, Germany and Spain where he formed lasting bonds with numerous friends. 

Professionally, Thomas dedicated his career to the U.S. Postal Service where he left a lasting impact with his diligent work ethic and warm demeanor.  He will be fondly remembered as a happy, kind-hearted, and generous individual by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Thomas is survived by his brothers John and William Belive and his sister Virginia (Ginger) Belive and his sister-in-law Deborah Belive and his niece, Natalia Belive. Another brother, Joseph (Jay) Belive,  predeceased him. He also survived by his devoted caretaker, Peggy Benfaida.

A celebration of Tom's life will be held at the Pelham Funeral Home, locate at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, NY on Wednesday, April 17th, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Internment will be private.
