Stephen Alexander Quintin

September 10, 1946 — January 15, 2024

Pelham Manor

Stephen Alexander Quintin, 77, died on Monday, January 15, in his home in Pelham, New York, surrounded by his family after a valiant fight against pancreatic cancer.

Steve is predeceased by his father, Paul E. Quintin Sr., mother, Ruth G. Quintin (née Cummings), and younger brother, Peter L. Quintin.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Mary K. Quintin (née Kenny), with whom he celebrated their 50th year of marriage on December 16, 2023; his two children, Susan M. Quintin and Ryan S. Quintin, daughter-in-law, Merrell M. Quintin (née Middleton), and his four grandchildren, Peter, Lilly, Charlotte and Anna Quintin. He is lovingly remembered by his brother, Paul E. Quintin Jr., and his sisters, Diane M. Dufault and Marilyn Quintin. Steve was also a much loved uncle and brother-in-law, and dedicated friend and colleague.

Steve was born in Boston on September 10, 1946, and raised in Weymouth, Massachusetts. He spent the past 46 years in Pelham, New York, where he raised his family. There was nothing more important to Steve than spending time with his family; Sunday dinners were his favorite. He was thrilled to have his two children return to Pelham to raise their families and loved spending time with his precious grandchildren, who adoringly called him “Duke”.

Steve graduated from Northeastern University, with a BA in Economics, and later, Suffolk University, for his MBA. Steve was a Licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of New York. After nearly 20 years leading real estate development for Saks Fifth Avenue, Steve started his own retail real estate advisory firm, Westfair Realty Advisors, in 1997, advising retail firms such as Neiman Marcus Group, hanna Andersson, Stuart Weitzman and Betsey Johnson. He loved his profession and could identify any city by its shopping centers.

After losing his parents at a young age, Steve helped raise his younger siblings in the family home until the youngest started college. As Marilyn’s guardian, his proudest achievement was securing a lifetime home for Marilyn, who has intellectual and developmental disabilities. Marilyn leads a fulfilling life at New England Village, where she has lived for over 50 years.

A wake will be held on Friday, January 19, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Pelham Funeral Home.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 20, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Pelham.
