Samuel J. Lore

Samuel J. Lore passed away on January 15, 2026, at Hackensack Meridian Hospital.

Born in New Rochelle, NY, to Samuel and Rose Lore, Samuel was one of three children. He was a proud graduate of New Rochelle High School. Immediately after graduating, Samuel began working in the family business as an asphalt paver, Sam Lore and Son. Following the passing of his father, he continued the family legacy as the sole owner of Lore General Contracting, dedicating his life to the work he loved.

Samuel married Audrey Hobson, and together they lovingly raised her daughters, Patricia, Colleen, and Joanne. They shared a devoted and happy marriage until Audrey’s passing. Later in life, Samuel was blessed to find love again and married his second wife, Ellie. Together, they enjoyed gardening, barbecuing, and spending time with one another, cherishing the simple joys of life.

A hardworking and dedicated man, Samuel took great pride in his profession. Even after retirement, he could often be found driving his beloved pickup truck, something that always brought him joy.

Samuel is survived by his loving wife, Ellie; his sister, Angela; his brother, Frank; his children; and his cherished grandchildren.

He will be fondly remembered for his strong work ethic, devotion to family, and the love he shared throughout his life.

A celebration of Samuel's life will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, between the hours of 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm at Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Ave, Pelham NY 10803. Interment will take place on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 10:30 am at Beechwoods Cemetery, 179 Beechwood Ave, New Rochelle NY 10801.
