Rosa Alemany

Rosa Alemany of Elmhurst, NY passed away on July 26th, at the age of 93 years at her sister's home in West Windsor, NJ. Rosa was born in Bridgeport, CT before moving to the lower east side of Manhattan where she attended St. Joseph's Grammar School. In the early 1930's Rosa moved to Spain where she met and married her husband, Joaquin Alemany in 1952. Rosa and her husband, Joaquin, moved back to the United States in 1953 where she raised their two children: daughter, Rosa and son, Joaquin. Rosa loved sewing and in 1967 began working as a seamstress in Manhattan. She retired in 1988 when she began her second career as a beloved grandmother. Rosa loved to travel and some of her favorite places included: Spain, Florida, North Carolina, California and Puerto Rico.

She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Joaquin.
Rosa is survived by her two children. She is sadly missed by her grandchildren, Ellen, Jacqueline, David & Catherine, and her sister, Francisca Cortell.

The Calling Hours will be held at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue on Tuesday, July 29th from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm. A Mass will be held at St Catharine's Church located at 25 Second Ave Pelham at 10 am on Wednesday, July 30th.
