Ronald Bowman

March 21, 1936 — October 27, 2021

Ronald Clifford Bowman of Mount Vernon, New York passed away suddenly on October 27, 2021, at the age of 85. He was born in Decatur, Illinois to Frank and Edna Poston Bowman.

Ronald was a Veteran. He worked as the Director of the Educational Communications Center of SUNY Maritime College, Fort Schuyler, Bx, NY.
Ronald met the love of his life while visiting a museum in Florence, Italy. Ronald and Edith hit it off and married in 1973. The couple moved to New York to share their lives together. Early in their marriage they lived in New Rochelle and eventually moved to Mount Vernon. They shared many common interests, some of those being art and music. (Ron was a cornet player himself.)

Ronald will be remembered as a gentle, kind, intelligent, and loving man. He was an avid reader, photographer and lover of jazz music. He also liked to travel. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 48 years, Edith Bowman and was predeceased by his parents and brother, William.

A celebration of Ronald’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, from 4PM-6PM with a funeral service taking place from 4:30-5 PM. For more information or to leave a condolence please visit www.pelhamfuneral.com
