Robert Anthony Condon

Robert “Bob” Condon, of Yonkers and formerly of The Bronx, NY passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022.

He was 85. Born in Cork City, Ireland on June 22, 1936, he was the son of Michael and Emily (Milligan) Condon. On December 1, 1962 at the Church of Christ the King in Cork City, he married his beloved wife Eileen Mannion, whom he is survived by.

He too is survived by his children; daughter Lynda, sons Robert Jr and Mark and his daughter-in-law Barbara, and his treasured grandchildren, Christopher and Brendan. He is also survived by his brother Jack Condon of Yonkers, Carmel Cledic and her husband Pierre of Lehighton, PA, and his sister Emily Pesa of Queens, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews near and far. 

Bob Condon. Shamelessly proud dad and Poppa. Dedicated husband. Master practitioner of Irish wit. Embarrassing charmer of total strangers. Zen golf whisperer. London adventurer at 19. Competitive bodybuilder. Judo master. Fearless immigrant who started a whole new life for himself, his wife, and three small children. Little league coach, soccer coach, scout counselor, and Santa at Christmas to multiple generations. Aspiring artist, amateur actor, Irish speaker, opera lover and spontaneous singer of only the most beautiful of Puccini’s arias. Carpenter to prisoners and royalty alike.

“Ni bheidh a leithead aris ann,” an oft used Irish saying: “We shall not see his like again”.

 We love you always Dad.

A celebration of Robert's life will be held at Pelham Funeral home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelhman, NY on Sunday, February 13th, 2022  from 1:00-5:00 pm. (Family requests ALL to wear MASKS). A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, February 14th, 2022 at the Church of the Annunciation in Crestwood, NY at 10 AM and interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Elmhurst, Queens, New York.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests, a donation be made in Robert's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
