Ripalta Pinto

Ripalta "Tina" Pinto, 95, of Pelham, NY passed away on March 16,2021. Wife of the late John N. Pinto. Sr., mother of Ann Marie LaBarbera (Samuel Pompa), Julie Pinto-Dworkin (Neil) John N .Pinto, Jr. (Kari), Joan Porcell ( Robert Streisand) and the late Regina Pinto Hartman (William). Grandmother to Lisa LaBarbera, Christopher La Barbera, Janine Porcell, Kristen Porcell, Sean Pinto and Brendan Pinto. Great grandmother to Gillian, Hunter, Ava Grace and Christopher John.

Born January 2, 1926 in Cerignola, Italy, Ripalta met her husband ,John, during WWII in Cerignola where he was stationed as a United Stated Army Sergeant. Married in August 1944 in Cerignola, the new bride came to the United States in 1945 and proudly became an American citizen. Mostly a stay-at-home mom but for a few years helped her husband with two businesses he owned.

Ripalta was an avid tennis player and played well into her seventies. She was also a shrewd player of Canasta and was a fabulous cook. Known for her home made pastas, her lighter than air ravioli, which she learned to make as a child in Italy. Her baking was superb. None of her recipes were ever replicated to this day and that was not for lack of trying.

Ripalta will be greatly missed. She always put her family first and did everything in her power to help them.

There will be no services at this time due to Covid-19. However, a memorial service in her honor will be held at a later date when it is safe to do so.

Her favorite charity was St. Jude's Children's Hospital. A donation in her honor would be greatly appreciated.
