Paul R. Sutorius

With heavy and broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Paul, who left us on March 22^nd,2024 at the age of 60 after a courageous battle with cancer.

 Paul was born on December 26^th, 1963, to Eugene (Gene) Sutorius and Marilyn (Stewart), in Queens NY, and grew up in Pelham Manor.  Paul was a beloved brother and held a special place in his heart for his siblings Kevin (Adele), Alison (Jack), Bryan (Christine).  He cherished the bond they shared and treasured the moments spent with his brothers and sisters.   He was an adored brother-in-law to John and Kenny Gillis, June Williams, Susan and Buddwood Shain, and Scott and Barbara Gillis. His unwavering love and dedication to his family were evident in every aspect of his life. 

 Paul was a devoted husband and loving father, he married Lisa Godino in 1989 and enjoyed their two children John (Jack) and Michelle Sutorius.  He remarried Molly Gillis in 2006 and embraced his role as stepfather to her children Mia and Jake Del Gais. His love for all his children knew no boundaries, and he was a father with a generous heart.  His unconditional love will leave a lasting mark on their hearts. Paul’s love for Molly knew no limits and his devotion will forever be etched in her heart. 

 Paul was blessed with many nieces and nephews, Heather Carroll (Sean), Lauren Monttarulli (Mike), Chris Sutorius, Bryan and Katie Sutorius, Kelly Rae Hunter, Nikki Ledbetter (Donny), Budd Shain (Dawn), Jordan Shain (Cindy), and Robby Gillis.  He was also loved by his great nieces and nephews, Ava, Isaac, Owen, Sienna, Will, Neve, Harrison, Miles, Jackson and Willow. 

 Throughout his life, Paul cultivated countless friendships that created bonds that lasted a lifetime.  His genuine warmth, his infectious laughter and sense of humor could light up a room and his quick wit never failed to bring smiles to the faces of those around him.   

 Paul began his career as a firefighter for the Village of Pelham Manor in August of 1990. After 27 years of service Paul retired in 2017. In addition to his career as a firefighter, Paul ventured into construction alongside his trusted friend Chris McCann establishing Brothers Remodeling for 4 years. In 2011 Paul started a job as project manager for Hometown restoration, where his expertise and leadership flourished.  

 Though he may be gone from our sight, Paul’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Rest in peace, dear Paul. You will be deeply missed, but your memory will live on in our hearts forever. 

 In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul’s memory to Tunnels to Towers Foundation.

 A celebration of Paul's life will be held at the Pelham Funeral Home, located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York, on Friday, April 5,2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, located at 575 Fowler Avenue, Pelham Manor, New York, on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
