Paul Anthony Daronco

Paul A. Daronco, a lifelong resident of Westchester County, passed away on October 20, 2020. Paul was born on March 2, 1936 to his parents Rose and Frank Daronco. He is predeceased by his brothers, Honorable Richard J. Daronco and Frank Daronco. Paul graduated from Pelham Memorial High School where he played football and ran track. While attending PMHS, he met his sweetheart and later wife, Margaret "Mickey" Rotanelli. Upon graduation, Paul attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and served two years in the U.S. Army.

Paul and Mickey were married, August 3,1957, and just recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Paul was a heating and cooling engineer. After retiring, he was a consultant.

He was his happiest on the water. Captain of his boat, he could often be found fishing the Long Island Sound and Montauk with his first mates Rocco "Rocky" Mazzola and Charlie Geitz. A man of action and community, Paul served the Town of Pelham in several capacities: Trustee, Mayor, and Town Supervisor. In addition, he served as a Governor of the New York Athletic Club.

Avid travelers, Paul and Mickey saw much of the world making new friends along the way. Their second home in Sanibel, Florida, was a welcoming destination for family and friends. Paul had many hobbies including wine making, a favorite at holiday parties. A generous man, Paul ensured his family experienced life fully and with unconditional love, from grilling his famous steak on the patio, cooking his infamous chicken soup, or celebrating with his loved ones at gatherings and family vacations.

Paul is survived by his wife Mickey, his three daughters Lori, Kathi and Maria, his eight grandchildren Jeni, Mike, Tommy, Sarah, Charlie, Brian, Cali and Julia, his two great-grandchildren Melanie and Paul (his namesake), cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church located at 575 Fowler Avenue, Pelham Manor, NY on Friday October 23rd at 10:00am Interment will be private. For more information or to leave a condolence please visit www.pelhamfuneral.com.
