Patricia "Tish" Davey

Patricia “Tish” Davey of Pelham Manor, New York, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026. She was 70 years old.

Born in New Rochelle to Andrew and Eileen Gilbride, Tish was the second eldest of four children. She attended Blessed Sacrament Grammar School and Ursuline High School before graduating from the College of New Rochelle with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

Following college, Tish moved to Washington, D.C., where she began her career as an intern for Congressman Dick Ottinger. She later worked for the Environmental Protection Agency before beginning what would become a lifelong career with the Federal Reserve.

It was in Washington that Tish met the love of her life, Edward “Ed” Davey. Ed would often say that from the moment he met Tish, he knew he was going to marry her. They grew closer while volunteering together with the Higher Achievement Program at Gonzaga High School, helping students from underserved communities.

Tish and Ed married on June 27, 1981, at Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle. They began their married life in Brooklyn Heights before moving to Pelham, where they built their home and raised their three children.

Tish devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family while continuing her career with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. She was a wonderful mother who took great pride in her children and, later, her grandchildren. She was always present, encouraging, and ready to lend a helping hand.

Tish’s life was also marked by extraordinary resilience while she waited for a double lung transplant, which she received in 2001. In the years following her transplant, she embraced life with extraordinary energy and ambition. While continuing to work full-time at the Federal Reserve, Tish earned her MBA from New York University.

She also completed the New York City Marathon—an achievement that captured something essential about Tish. She never allowed illness to define her or dictate the boundaries of her life.

Tish was an active member of the Pelham community. She loved playing tennis at the Pelham Country Club, enjoyed walking and hiking, and volunteered at Prospect Hill Elementary School and with the Junior League of Pelham, among other organizations. She believed deeply in giving back and encouraged her children to understand the importance of service and involvement in their communities.

Tish also loved to travel. She treasured summers on Cape Cod and in Amagansett, creating lasting memories with family and friends. Ireland held a special place in her heart, particularly visits to her ancestral hometown and the opportunity to connect with the family history and heritage that meant so much to her.

Tish will be remembered as a magnetic and driven woman whose presence could light up a room. She was intelligent, hardworking, warm, and stylish, with impeccable taste and an appreciation for the finer things in life. She was a voracious reader and lifelong learner, a devoted wife and mother, a loving grandmother, and a loyal friend. She possessed an unmistakable zest for life and made the most of the time she was given.

Above all, Tish cared deeply about people and made a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Tish is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Ed Davey; her three children, Kara (Stephen) Master, Megan (Matthew) Keating, and Michael (Emily) Davey; and her six cherished grandchildren, Keegan, Boden, Griffin, Kellen, Connell, and Charlotte.

She is also survived by her three siblings, Cathy (Stephen) Foley, Andrew (Jennifer) Gilbride, and Eileen (Kyle) Mickas. Tish will be deeply missed by her extended family, many friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives she touched.

A Celebration of Tish’s Life will take place at Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York, on Thursday, September 10, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 575 Fowler Avenue, Pelham Manor, New York, on Friday, September 11, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Bronxville Cemetery, 18 Midland Avenue, Bronxville, New York.
