Noel Patrick O'Rourke

Noel Patrick O’Rourke was born in Sligo, Ireland on April 21st, 1968, to Bernadette (nee Kennedy) and Noel Stephen O’Rourke. Noel attended Summerhill College, Sligo and the National University of Ireland at Galway. Noel immigrated to America in 1989 and worked as a bartender while studying for his series 7 exams to become a stockbroker and financial analyst for many years.

Noel enjoyed spending time with his countless friends and family. His greatest gift was to make people laugh. Belly laugh in fact. His ease with rapier wit was second to none. His great will and drive allowed him to take life head on. He often considered life a merry-go-round . Just enjoy the ride. He accomplished whatever he put his mind to.

Noel will be remembered as a kind and generous person, with an unforgettable infectious nature.

Noel is survived by his loving mother; Bernadette O’Rourke, his brothers; Brian O’Rourke and Barry O’Rourke, his sister; Anne O’Rourke, brother in law Donald Walsh and his Niece; Mariella Walsh along with many many Cousins and innumerable friends and colleagues. He will be forever missed by everyone who knew him. Noel is pre-deceased by his Father Noel Stephen O’Rourke.

A Celebration of Noel’s life will be held at Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Ave, Village of Pelham, NY on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, from 4-8 PM. Noel will be repatriated to Sligo, Co. Sligo, Ireland to be with his Father. Words can not express how saddened and shocked I am. I will never forget our conversations at Oppenheimer when I was a young recruiter. U were a character with a heart of gold always looking out for me and advising me like a big brother. Noel used to say your the best but in fact he was the best. Rest In Peace my friend. U will truly be missed. I will always keep your advice to persevere.

I hadn't learned that my cousin from Sligo had passed away, until I heard from a cousin in Ireland that his mum had passed away. I met Noel once when he visiting us up in the Boston area with his father. I wish that I'd gotten to know him better. He sounds like a great person and a friend to many. High praise. Rest in Peace, Noel!
