Nancy R. Shaw

Nancy Shaw of Pelham passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017. She was 81 years old.

Nancy was born in New Rochelle on June 4th 1936 to Frederick and Nancy Rayner.  She graduated from New Rochelle High School and then received her teaching degree from New Rochelle College.

Nancy worked as a teacher in Pelham Children's Center. She loved to teach and had a great love for children. If she was not teaching children in the classroom, she could be found mentoring kids through her role as a Girl Scout Leader and Sunday School Teacher. Nancy was a lifetime member of the Pelham Community Church, where she was part of the choir and Bell choir and later was involved in the Pelham Seniors.

Throughout all her commitments and busy schedule, Nancy always made time for her family. After all, family was what she lived for and her biggest joy.

Nancy will be remembered as a loving and strong person,
who set a good example for those around her. One who was willing to help and always put herself before others. She was mother to many and a friend to all.

Nancy is survived by her five children: Donna Reichelt, Wendy Purrman, Vicki Lagoudis, Jennifer Shaw and Jo-Lynn Schremp , their Spouses James Reichelt, Theodore Purrman, Michael Lagoudis, and Frederic Schremp. Her grandchildren: Christina and Suey Mendez, James Reichelt, Kyle and Collin Purrman, Rocco Gioia, Zoie Lagoudis, Jessica and Michael Shaw. And her great-grandchildren: Mariah, Noah, Levi, and Austin Mendez. She will be missed by her sisters Mary Babb, Louise Uzzo and brother Raymond Rayner. She is predeceased by her brothers Frederick Rayner, Benjamin Rayner and Edward Rayner.

Visiting hours will be held at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham NY on Tuesday, January 2nd from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM  A Funeral Service will take place January 3rd at The Masters Hand Church 70 Church Street in New Rochelle NY.
