Bishop Maureen Patricia Woodley
Born in Clarendon, Jamaica • Resided in Walden, New York
Sunset: January 22, 2026
Maureen Patricia Woodley lived a life shaped by love, service, and unwavering presence. She gave herself wholeheartedly to her family, her friends, and to every person fortunate enough to cross her path.
She mastered the art of showing up—often sensing a need before it was spoken. Whether it was a late‑night call, a heavy moment, or a day when words fell short, Maureen arrived with her whole heart: listening deeply, loving generously, and offering comfort that wrapped around the soul.
Her humor was its own kind of healing, reminding us that joy and sorrow can coexist and that laughter is a quiet form of prayer.
Maureen leaves behind countless memories—laughter that arrived right on time, comfort that felt heaven‑sent, and love that never wavered. These are the gifts she leaves us, the pieces of her we carry forward.
Her life was a ministry of presence. She made people feel seen, valued, and safe. She held space without judgment and loved without conditions, preaching not with words but with the steady grace of how she lived.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ermine and Levi; her husband, Shelton Woodley; her son Christopher; and her brothers Noel and Alty. She leaves behind sister Trefina, brother Wayne; sons Adriane and Edward (Eddie), daughter Anika; grandchildren Nicole, Danielle and Andrew, and a wide circle of beloved family and friends—too numerous to name—whose lives were shaped by her kindness, steadied by her wisdom, and uplifted by her love.
