Mary Rascona of Somers, New York passed away peacefully on February 22, 2016. She was 91 years old. She was born in the Bronx to the late Michele Insalaco and Liboria Verdone. On Memorial Day in1943, Mary married her love, Angelo, and celebrated 64 years together.
Mary and Angelo settled on Radcliff Avenue in the Bronx and attended St Lucy's Church. She was a devout woman and created an altar in her home. In 1973 the family moved into Pelham Manor. Mary was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family. She spent many years as a seamstress.
She will be remembered as a hard working and determined woman. Mary loved to help others and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She loved to sing and enjoyed the music of the Duprees.
Mary is survived by her daughters: Connie, Annie, Gina and Angela. She will be sadly missed by her 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and one future grandchild.
Her life will be honored and celebrated on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 3:00-8:00pm at the Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catharine's Church, 25 Second Avenue in Pelham, New York on Saturday, February 27 at 10:00am.
