Martha Fatima Pujols-Begley

Martha Pujols-Begley of Yonkers NY passed away on November 19th 2019. She was 49 years old. Martha was born in Managua, Nicaragua to Manuel and Vilma Canales. She was raised in the Bronx with her three brothers. She attended St Pius High School where she graduated in 1987. Upon graduation Martha went to work at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New York. It was while working at Blue Cross she would meet her husband of 12 years John Begley. The couple would move to Yonkers where Martha would raise her daughter Rebecca.

Martha loved reading and spending time by the water. She was a full-time mom who was devoted to her daughter Rebecca. In her spare time she loved to dance, watch theater, listen to music and talk politics.

Martha will be remembered as a selfless and eager to help person. She was generous to a fault. Martha had a wonderful sense of humor. She could be blunt but was always genuine. She left a lasting impression on the many lives she touched.


Martha is survived by her husband John, her daughter Rebecca Pujols, her parents Manuel and Vilma Canales. She is also survived by her brothers Manuel Jr, Javier and Alvaro. She will be missed by everyone she knew.
