Marie Petruzzi

Marie Petruzzi passed away peacefully on August 26th at the age of 100. She was a life long resident of New Rochelle, and enjoyed living independently well past her 90th birthday. In 1934 she married Vito Petruzzi, who predeceased her on November 17, 1974. Marie was the fifth of seven children born to Frank and Paola Ranilla. She was predeceased by her siblings Rose Barbuto, Joseph Ranilla, Nicholas Ranilla, Rachel Esposito, Jennie DeVito and Sam Ranilla.
Know to almost all as "Aunt Mary", she enjoyed caring for and spending time with her 9 nieces and nephews, 31 great nieces and nephews, and 43 great-great nieces and nephews. All of whom inevitably enjoyed treats from her kitchen and many stories from her childhood. On April 10th of this year she celebrated her 100th birthday at a party with her family and friends and much to her delight, spent most of the party holding her most recent great-great niece.
A celebration of her life will be held at Pelham Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 2nd from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, followed by a funeral service on Wednesday, September 3rd at Church of St. Joseph, 280 Washington Avenue, New Rochelle, NY 10801 at 10:00 AM.
