Marie Therese Laloi, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, at the age of 90.
Born in Jacmel, Haiti, to Jean Caba Laloi and Marie Carmen Leger, Marie Therese was the younger of two children. She was raised in Jacmel, where she attended local schools and completed her high school education. After graduating, she dedicated herself to caring for her family and became a devoted homemaker. She had one son, Reginal who immigrated to the United States.
At the age of 59, Marie Therese moved to the United States to join her son who would shortly pass after she arrived. True to her nature, she continued her lifelong role as a homemaker, always caring for the people she loved.
She delighted in baking cookies and cakes, preparing Haitian dishes, taking long walks, watching Haitian comedies, singing gospel music, and enjoying relaxing baths.
Marie Therese will be remembered for her warm spirit, her sense of humor, her ever-present smile, and her joyful outlook on life. She was loving yet firm, and she took great pride in keeping a tidy and welcoming home.
She is survived by her nephews Joseph Hugues Charles, Jean Frantz Charles, and Djames Passeus, and by her niece Barbara Saturne. She was predeceased by her beloved son Reginal Laloi and her sister Ivonese Laloi.
A celebration of Marie Therese’s life will be held at Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York, on Friday, December 5th, from 3–5 PM. Interment will be private.For more information or to leave a condolence, please visit www.pelhamfuneral.com
