Margaret Federice (Maselli)

Margaret Federice, a lifelong resident of Pelham, New York, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, at the age of 73. She was born on June 28, 1953.

Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose greatest joy in life was her family. For 49 years, she shared a beautiful marriage with her beloved husband, William “Bill” Federice. Together, they truly did everything. They raised their family, worked together, faced life’s challenges side by side, celebrated the good times, and created countless memories along the way. They were partners in every sense of the word, sharing a deep friendship, tremendous love, plenty of laughter, and an unbreakable bond.

Margaret dedicated much of her life to raising her four children. She was a loving and devoted mother who was always there for her family. As her children grew older, Margaret began a new chapter in her life, working as a Teacher’s Assistant at Greenburgh North Castle. Her caring and nurturing nature made her especially well suited to working with children, and she touched the lives of many students during her years there.

Margaret was a woman who was truly one of a kind. She was tough, strong-willed, funny, loving, and incredibly generous. She had a heart bigger than life and would give anything she had to someone she loved or to anyone who needed help. She never hesitated to lend a hand and was the person her family and friends could always count on. She had a wonderful ability to make people laugh, speak her mind without hesitation, and make those around her feel loved.

Margaret also knew how to enjoy life. She loved the beach, spending long days in the sun and enjoying a good tan. Many happy memories were made at the Davenport Beach Club, Orchard Beach, and during trips to Punta Cana. But while she loved the beach, her favorite place of all was wherever her family was gathered.

Her seven grandchildren were especially precious to her and truly the light of her life. Margaret treasured every moment she spent with them, from family gatherings to the simple everyday moments that become the memories we hold onto forever. She took tremendous pride in watching them grow and loved each of them in her own special way.

Margaret’s life was defined by the love she gave to others. She was a wonderful wife, a devoted mother, a proud grandmother, Aunt and a loyal friend. She could be strong and opinionated, but beneath that toughness was an enormous heart and a deep capacity for love. She gave so much of herself to the people around her, and her generosity and sense of humor made her unforgettable.

Margaret is survived by her beloved husband, William “Bill” Federice; her daughter, Lauren (Ryan) Downs; and her sons, Jason Federice and Nicholas (Melissa) Federice. She will also be deeply missed by her brother, Bill Maselli; her seven cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Anthony, Hayley, Ella, Thomas, Luca, and Ryan Jr.; and her nieces, Nicole O’Connor and Chelsea James.

Margaret was predeceased by her beloved son, Patrick, her brother Patrick Maselli and her sisters-in-law, Rosemarie O’Connor and Anna Marie Maselli.

Margaret leaves behind a family who will forever carry her love, strength, humor, and generosity with them. Her absence will be felt at every family gathering, on every day at the beach, and in all those little moments when they wish they could hear her voice, her laughter, or one of her unforgettable opinions just one more time.

Margaret will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A Celebration of Margaret’s Life will take place at Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York, on Friday, September 11, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 575 Fowler Avenue, Pelham Manor, New York, on Saturday, September 12, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Port Chester.
