Kathleen Mary Walsh

Kathleen M. Walsh, 60, of Spring Lake, NJ, passed away on May 14, 2014, at Calvary Hospital after a heroic battle with cancer.
Kathleen was born in Edenton, NC and raised in Pelham, NY. She was the daughter of the late Thomas H. Walsh. Kathleen is survived by her mother Mary M. Walsh and three brothers Thomas and his wife Lynne, Paul and his wife Cindy and Nicholas; one niece, two nephews and two grand nieces and a number of loving friends.
Kathleen graduated from Marist College with a BS degree in Business and spent nearly 40 years in sales of lighting and fabric. She held various sales, sales management and show room manager positions working with customers and interior designers.
She loved baking, gardening and her Spring Lake home particularly the ocean and was truly at peace on the boardwalk.
She was a Eucharistic Minister and taught religious education at St. Catharine's and St. Margaret's parish in Spring Lake. Kathleen's was deeply devoted to St. Thérèse of Lisieux. In 1999, when the relics of St. Thérèse were brought to the United States, Kathleen was instrumental in organizing their transportation throughout the country. When the relics came to St. Patrick's Cathedral, she spent many hours volunteering in the Cathedral while thousands of people came to venerate the relics.
A viewing will be held at the Pelham Funeral Home on Sunday May 18, between 2-4 PM and 7-9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Catharine's R.C. Church, Pelham, on May 19 at 10 AM followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial remembrance be made to the Society of the Little Flower - Saint Therese of Lisieux.
