Jeremiah Joseph Sullivan
January 11, 1963 – May 4, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeremiah Joseph Sullivan, lovingly known as “Uncle Jerry,” on May 4, 2025. Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, Jeremiah was a proud Irish American whose life was rooted in family, friendship, and community.
Jeremiah was the beloved son of the late Jeremiah J. Sullivan native of County Kerry, Ireland and the late Anna Sullivan (Spencer) native of County Cork, Ireland and the beloved brother of the late John Sullivan, Jeremiah is survived by his devoted sisters Margaret, Maureen, Breeda, and Patricia. He deeply cherished his entire family—nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends—always holding each of them close to his heart. Family gatherings were the cornerstone of his joy, and he never missed a chance to celebrate, reminisce, or simply be with the people he loved most.
A lifelong Yankees fan and avid boxing enthusiast, Jerry brought that same passion into everything he did. As the owner of Jerry’s Coffee Shop on Longwood Avenue, he became a local legend. But Jerry didn’t just serve coffee—he served his community. His shop was a haven where everyone felt welcome. Prices stayed low not for profit, but because, as Jerry often said, “I want to make sure everyone can afford it.” That simple yet powerful sentiment defined the man he was.
Known for his unwavering kindness, integrity, and generosity, Jerry treated every customer like family and every friend like a brother or sister. He had a golden heart and a quiet strength that made those around him feel seen, respected, and loved.
He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, and humility that will never be forgotten. Uncle Jerry was more than a name—he was a presence, a comfort, and a guiding light to all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
