Jeanette M. McCloskey-Moore

 Jeanette M McCloskey-Moore of New York, New York, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024.  She was 86 years old. Born in New York City, to Bernard and Mary Ellen McCloskey, Jeanette was one of 9 children. Jeanette attended Julia Richmond High School. She would later meet her husband David Moore and they would remain living and working in New York City.

Jeanette worked for the NY Telephone Company before finding her passion as an Administrative Supervisor for City Bank, where she was a loyal and dedicated employee for over 40 years. Jeanette had a strong work ethic and loved her job. 

Jeanette along with her sisters and nieces enjoyed traveling, she loved to fly and enjoyed vacationing on cruise ships. Jeanette could be found shopping at Bloomingdale’s and browsing through thrift shops. She was an avid animal lover and a most treasured aunt who loved her family and friends immensely.

Jeanette will be remembered as a devoted wife, sister, aunt, great-aunt, relative and wonderful friend. She will be dearly missed; however, her family finds comfort in the many treasured memories she leaves behind.

Jeanette is survived by her niece Donna Gibson (née) Geraghty and her husband Thomas A. Gibson, her niece Kathryn Geraghty and daughter Tiffany Geraghty, and many nieces and nephews. 

She is predeceased by her husband David Moore.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Jeanette’s memory to the Humane Society of New York on East 59th Street in Manhattan.

A celebration of Jeanette’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Ave, Pelham NY on Monday, January 29, 2024, between the hours of 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at The Church of Saint Catherine of Siena located at 411 E 68th St, New York, NY at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Queens, NY.
