ARNAU, JEAN M. age 84, died peacefully at her home in Narragansett, RI, on Thursday, August 22nd with her children at her side.
She was the wife of the late, William J. Arnau and the daughter of the late Miriam (Dillon) and John J. O'Neil. Born in Pelham, NY, and a graduate of PMHS class of 1946.
She is survived by her loving and devoted children: Kathleen Cicilline, William Arnau, Jr., Susan Belcher (Jeffrey), Jack (Katie), James Arnau (Sandra), Kim Scalisi (Joseph), and Mimi Auer (Ted). She is also survived by her siblings, Elizabeth Kearney, Mary Ward, and James E. O'Neil. Her daughter, Jeanne Mellow and husband, Barry, predeceased her.
Jean had twenty grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Jean was known for her quick wit and infectious sense of humor. She was also known for her abiding love of the ocean, and spending time at "The Cottage" with her kids and grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held on August 27, 2013, at 10 A.M., at St. Catharine's Church in Pelham, NY. Visiting hours will be held on August 26, 2013, from 3-8 at the Pelham Funeral Home.
Donations in her memory may be made to Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island.
