Gloria Spiezio

Pelham Manor

Gloria Spiezio of Pelham Manor, New York, passed into the heavenly gates to our Lord, Jesus Christ on January 13, 2023, at the age of 95. She was born on September 13, 1927, in Pelham Bay, Bronx, NY, to Nicholas & Josephine Giamboi, Gloria was one of two children. Gloria graduated from Christopher Columbus High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from New York University. She would later meet her husband of over 55 years, Joseph F Jr. The couple was blessed with two children, Carol Jo and Joseph F III, whom Gloria was fortunate to stay at home and raise in their Pelham Manor, NY home.

 

Gloria was a woman of great faith. She was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help for over 60 years and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society, Pelham Woman’s Club, Pelham Senior Citizen Club, and the Manor Club.

 

Gloria was an avid New York Jets and Yankees fan, she enjoyed playing cards and sewing, cooking traditional Italian dishes and desserts, taking regular trips to Florida, as well as the occasional casino getaways with her grandson, Joseph. Gloria always made sure family came first and always enjoyed spending time surrounded by family and friends. She loved life and would never say no to a good adventure.

 

Gloria will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great aunt, relative, and wonderful friend, and neighbor. She will be dearly missed; however, her family finds comfort in the many treasured memories she leaves behind.

 

Gloria is survived by her daughter Carol Jo (Vincent) Gioia of Pelham Manor, NY. She will be forever cherished and remembered by her five grandchildren: Cathy Jo (Nicholas) Belli of Eastchester, NY, Joseph F (Mari) Gioia of Boynton Beach, FL, Lianna (Joseph) Imbrogno, Jacqueline Spiezio, and Joseph IV Spiezio of New Rochelle, NY. Gloria was also the proud great-grandmother (Gigi) to Priscilla and Vance Belli, and Jemma and Joseph Imbrogno. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph F Spiezio Jr, her brother, the Honorable Joseph N Giamboi, and her son, Joseph F Spiezio III.

 

A celebration of Gloria’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham NY on Thursday, January 19 from 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10am on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Pelham Manor. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
