George A. Daly of Somers, NY, formerly of Pelham, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 28th, at the age of 78. He was well-known in Pelham as the former owner of Carol Cleaners on Fifth Avenue. He and his family lived in Pelham and he was a volunteer basketball coach for boys and girls at St. Catharine's school for many years.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy, George served as head butcher and cook aboard the USS Mississippi and the USS Roanoke. George was a loving family man who is survived by his wife, Elaine; daughters Linda Schuldt and Lisa DeLuca; son-in law Gary Schuldt who is the present owner of Carol Cleaners and Tailors; son-in-law Bob DeLuca; grandchildren Gary, Kaela and Tyler Schuldt and Marina and Robby DeLuca; and three brothers.

Visiting hours will be at the Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham, NY on Thursday, Nov.1 from 4-8pm. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, Nov.2 at St. Catharine's Church, Pelham, NY at 10:30am. Interment Rose Hill Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, NY
