Genci Dervishi

Dervishi of Yonkers, New York, passed away on March 16th 2026. He was 58 years old. Born in Korce, Albania to Vait and Pakize Dervishi, Genci was one of 8 children. He would later meet his wife Violeta while he was serving in the Albanian military. The couple would marry and move to Greece where they raised their two children, Inri and Pamela.

Genci worked alongside his son doing various types of construction, eventually starting their own business together. He had a strong work ethic and keen eye for beauty and detail. Genci always enjoyed spending time surrounded by family and friends and was known to those who loved him as being the most hospitable host and most welcomed guest. 

Genci will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, relative and wonderful friend. He will be dearly missed but his presence will forever be felt in all the beautiful things he left behind. 

Genci is survived by his wife Violeta, his son, Inri, and his daughter Pamela. He will be missed by his two grandchildren Emma and Noah as well as his 7 siblings, Zamira Vokshi, Frida Lako, Engjellush Dervishi, Irena Dervishi, Kozeta Dervishi, Alma DeFelice, Arian Dervishi. He is predeceased by his Mother, Pakize and his Father, Vait Dervishi.

 A celebration of Genci's life will take place at Pelham Funeral Home, located at, 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham NY on Thursday,  March 19th, 2026 between the hours of 4:00pm and 8:00 pm .
