Frank Barbieri

Frank A. Barbieri, 83, of Pelham Manor, New York, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.

Frank’s life was one of faith, service, family and an extraordinary commitment to his community. Born on June 30, 1943, in the Bronx, Frank moved with his family to Pelham Manor in 1955, the community he would proudly call home for more than 70 years.

Frank proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1971, attaining the rank of Captain. After his military service, he began a new chapter with the federal government, working as a real estate specialist and appraiser with the Veterans Administration and the United States Postal Service. He was also a New York State licensed real estate broker and operated a full-service real estate office in the Belmont section of the Bronx.

His commitment to service was woven into nearly every part of his life. Frank served for more than 30 years with the Pelham Manor Volunteer Fire Department, where he rose to lieutenant and became a certified pump operator. He received numerous awards for his service and perfect attendance at alarms and company drills. He was also a longtime member of American Legion Pelham Post 50, serving in numerous leadership roles, including Post Chaplain and Post Commander. His dedication to his fellow veterans and his community was recognized by the Westchester County Board of Legislators, which proclaimed April 4, 2008, “Frank A. Barbieri Day” in Westchester County in honor of his 35 years of dedicated volunteer service.

Frank’s faith was an important and deeply cherished part of his life. A devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, he served as an usher and was a member of the parish council. He also served on the parish council of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on 187th Street in the Bronx. For Frank, service was never about recognition or praise; it was simply an expression of his faith and a reflection of the kind of person he was always willing to give his time and serve others.

But his greatest pride and joy was his family.

Frank and his beloved wife, Diana, recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. Together they built a life filled with faith, family, hard work, laughter and love. He leaves behind his three sons, Christopher Barbieri and his wife, Lindsay, of Pelham Manor; Frank Barbieri, Jr. and his wife, Kathryn, of Delray Beach, Florida; and Thomas Barbieri and his wife, Rebecca, of Pelham Manor.

He was a devoted and enormously proud grandfather to Alessia, Anna, Nicholas, Lorenzo, Bridget, Grace and Amelia. He was also a beloved son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.

Frank’s greatest legacy, however, is not found in the many titles he held or honors he received. It is found in the people he loved. It is in the character, integrity and devotion of his three sons, and in the qualities he passed down to his grandchildren. His family carries his lessons forward every day: serve others, keep your word, love your family, have faith and always show up for the people who need you.

Frank spent his life showing up. For his country. For his community. For his church. For his friends. And most of all, for his family.

He will be deeply missed, but his presence will remain in the people he shaped, the community he served and the generations of his family who will carry his love and legacy forward.

His family was his greatest accomplishment, his greatest joy and his lasting legacy.

A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York, on Tuesday, August 18th, from 4:00–8:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 575 Fowler Avenue, Pelham Manor, New York, on Wednesday, August 19th, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
