Elizabeth M. Duffy, “Lisa,” passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 72 years old.

Born on January 28, 1954 in Mount Vernon to Fred and Louise (Pescatore) Mazzullo, Lisa was the youngest of two children. Despite an 11-year age difference, she shared a special bond with her older brother John, which only strengthened over time. Growing up in New Rochelle, Lisa had a deep appreciation for family, faith, and education -- values which were the cornerstones of her life.

Lisa graduated from New Rochelle High School and continued her education at Iona College, where she met the love her life, Paul Duffy. She earned two master’s degrees in Reading and Educational Administration and built a fulfilling career as a teacher in the Mount Vernon City School District.

Lisa married Paul at Blessed Sacrament Church on October 3, 1981. Together they created a loving and devoted marriage and raised three children: Kristin, Laura, and Michael. Their partnership was marked by unwavering love and mutual support.

A woman of deep faith, Lisa was a devoted Catholic as a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, where she generously served her church community as a lector, Eucharistic minister and beloved religious instruction teacher. She was also an avid participant in the Women of Grace at St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction sharing teachings and witnessing about her faith and life journey.

Lisa embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She was a cheerleader in high school and in college, played the violin throughout her childhood, and loved music and dancing. Lisa enjoyed softball, skiing, boating and golf and rooting for her favorite New York sports teams, the Rangers, Giants and Yankees.

Alongside Paul, she was an avid traveler and together they explored Bermuda, Portugal, Italy, Spain, Iceland and Ireland. They also visited many of America's treasured landmarks, including Denali, Yellowstone and Yosemite National Parks, Mount Rushmore, and most recently Gettysburg. Lisa shared her love of travel with her children, spearheading many family adventures from  Alaska to the Bahamas and the beautiful waters of Lake George.

Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her immediate and extended family, sharing her love and wisdom and reminiscing about her childhood stories from the “good ole days” with her many cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and neighbors.

Above all else, Lisa cherished her role as "Mima" to her seven beloved grandsons, adamantly dedicated to loving them to her fullest.

Lisa will be remembered for her strength, resilience, unwavering faith, and the deep pride she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the lessons she taught, and the love she shared so generously with all who knew her.

Lisa is survived by her beloved husband, Paul, her children, Kristin (Kevin) Quinn, Laura (William Lee) Duffy, Michael (Sarah) Duffy. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Brendan Quinn, Thomas Quinn, John Lee, Matthew Lee, Paul Duffy, Patrick Duffy and Kieran Duffy, and her brother, John (Carolyn Butera) Mazzullo.

A celebration of Lisa’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham NY on June 16. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place  at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, located at 575 Fowler Avenue, Pelham NY 10803, on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 10:00 am . Interment will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery at a later date.
