Edward J. Rayner, a Pelham resident, died August 18th, 2013 at the age of 68. Edward was born January 5th, 1945, in New Rochelle to Fred and Nancy Rayner.

Edward served in the US Marine Corp from 1965-1967 and was a combat Marine in Vietnam. He worked for Con Edison for 48 years and retired in 2011. He was also a volunteer fireman at the Pelham Firehouse for 50 years and retired as assistant chief. He was an active volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club, Boy Scouts of America and the New Rochelle Youth Tackle League. Whether it was his friends, his family or the various charitable organizations that he was associated with, he was always there for anyone who needed help.

Edward is survived by his sisters Nancy Shaw of Jefferson Valley, New York, Louise and Ronald Uzzo of Pelham, New York, Twin sister Mary Babb of New Rochelle, NY and brother Raymond Rayner and Patricia Rayner of Liverpool, NY and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is pre-deceased by his father Fred, mother Nancy and brothers Fredrick and Benjamin Rayner.

Visitation will be on Wednesday at the Pelham Funeral Home from 2pm -4pm and again from 7pm- 9pm. Mass will be celebrated Thursday at St. Catharine's Church at 10am. Interment will follow at Beechwood Cemetery New Rochelle, NY.
