Desiree C. Virges

Desiree  was born on November 18, 1957, in the Bronx, New York, to Gloria Walker Beatty and Wallace Hickson. Desiree Virges attended Morris High School. She then went on to have children and raise a family. She later began her career as a Fabric Coordinator with Dupont & then Bronx Psychiatric Hospital in the food industry where she retired. Desireé, 68, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Calvary Hospital after a courageous battle with Cancer.

 Desireé was a dedicated member of the Grandview Congregation with Jehovah's Witnesses. She was baptized on October 11, 2014. She was a faithful servant of Jehovah who deeply valued her time in the ministry and was passionate about sharing Bible truths with others. In her leisure time, Desiree enjoyed listening to music, especially her favorite Motown artist, Smokey Robinson. She also loved watching crime TV shows such as Columbo and Law & Order: SVU, and was also a fan of the 1950's sitcom I Love Lucy. However, she received the most joy spending time with her furry companion, Danny Hickson whom she often referred to as her baby.

Desireé was devoted to her family and friends. She was someone you could always call for a conversation, encouragement, or support. Her warmth, faith, and willingness to be there for others will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. She is survived by her children: Anthony Hickson, Tasha Hickson, and Louise Leonard, Siblings: Wallace Hickson Jr, Robert Beatty, Vernee Lomax, Victoria Tabbs, Yolanda, Joyce and Natalie Hodge. Grands: Dondell (Keyanna) Leonard, Shelton and Al'Tyreek Leonard, Tyra Hickson, Timar Davis, Kareema White, Shantone (Tysean) Jennings, Zyhir Pierce, Jada and Marquis Potts, Anthony Hickson Jr., Jawuan and Jaylin Jones.16 great-grandchildren and a host of beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gloria Walker, Wallace Hickson and Justine Hodge Spouse: Larry Virges, and Siblings: Renee and Karen Hodge.Grands: Anthony Darby
