Mount Vernon

Debra Campbell of Mount Vernon, New York, passed away on January 7, 2026, after a courageous battle with ALS.

Born in Port- of- Spain in Trinidad, Debra was the third of seven children. She was lovingly raised in Trinidad by her parents, Augustine and Claudette Webster, before moving to New York at the age of 17. Shortly after arriving in New York, Debra enrolled in nursing school, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She dedicated her professional life to caring for others and served with distinction at Westchester Medical Center and Montefiore Medical Center, where she worked as an Assistant Director of Nursing.

In her personal life, Debra found great joy in cooking and baking and loved hosting family gatherings filled with laughter and togetherness. She was an avid football fan and enjoyed traveling. It was during a trip to Jamaica that she met the love of her life, Byron, whom she would later marry. After a two-year courtship, Byron followed Debra back to the United States, and the couple settled in Mount Vernon, where they built a beautiful life together over 11 years of marriage.

Debra will be remembered for her jovial spirit, infectious laughter, and ever-present smile. She was often described as an angel—full of life, love, and boundless energy. Phenomenal, selfless, and deeply devoted to her family, Debra touched everyone she encountered with her warmth and generosity.

Debra is survived by her beloved husband, Byron; her father, Augustine Webster; her children, Antonio and Jodiann Campbell; her siblings, Lisa Golmes, Derrick Webster, Darren Webster, David Webster and Sharon Webster; and a wide circle of family and friends who will forever cherish her memory. She is predeceased by her mother Claudette Webster and her brother Bryan Figeroux.

A celebration of Debra’s life will be held at First Pentecostal Church of Christ, located at 436 South 7th Avenue, Mount Vernon, New York, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 9:00am. A service will follow at 10:30am Interment will be at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, New York.
