Charles DiBenedetto of Pelham, New York, passed away on April 22, 2026, at the age of 79.
Born at New Rochelle Hospital, Charles was an only child and was raised by his mother Theresa on Sixth Street in Pelham. He attended Hutchinson Elementary School and Pelham High School, where he was an active athlete, playing both baseball and football. From a young age, Charles developed a passion for racing, a love that would stay with him throughout his life. He later owned and operated a race car and race shop on Fifth Avenue in Pelham.
Following his graduation from high school, Charles answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Army. He was stationed in Thailand for two years. Upon returning home, he met the love of his life, Silvia, with whom he shared 57 wonderful years. The couple was married at St. Joseph’s Church in New Rochelle and made their home in Pelham, where they raised their three children.
Charles worked as a Parts Manager for White Plains Lincoln Mercury for many years. Outside of work, he found great joy in spending time with his family, coaching baseball, and enjoying the outdoors through hunting.
Charles will be remembered as a caring, lovable, and generous man who deeply cherished his family. His grandchildren and children were the center of his world, and Sunday dinners were a treasured tradition—one he ensured brought the entire family together each week.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Silvia; his children, Theresa (Frank) Loiacono, Joseph (Renee) DiBenedetto, and Michael (Kristina) DiBenedetto. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Alexandra (Jeff) Baker, Frankie Loiacono; AJ, Ava, and Aidan DiBenedetto; Nicholas and Michael Jr. DiBenedetto; as well as his two great-grandchildren, Emerson and Peyton Baker.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Charles’s life at Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York, on Sunday, April 26, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
