Carmen Hilerio-Robles, a beloved mother, genuine caregiver, and the heart of her family, has passed away at the age of 84. Born on June 5, 1939, in Yauco, Puerto Rico, Carmen touched the lives of all who had the fortune to know her. Her deep love and dedication to her children were unparalleled, and she embraced her role as a mother with unwavering devotion.
Carmen found great fulfillment in her career as a home healthcare aide, where she selflessly cared for others with tender compassion. Her nurturing spirit and kind-hearted nature made her an exceptional caregiver, allowing her to bring comfort and joy to those in need. She truly found purpose in being there for others during their most vulnerable times.
In addition to her career, Carmen was a woman of many talents and passions. She possessed an exceptional talent for cooking and could effortlessly create dishes that would leave everyone at the dinner table satisfied and grateful. Her delicious meals became cherished memories that will live on through generations.
Outside of the kitchen, Carmen found joy in simple pleasures. She loved gathering around the television to watch "The Price is Right," experiencing moments of excitement alongside friends and family as they cheered on contestants hoping to win big. Carmen also had a remarkable ability to bring people together; she was the mastermind behind countless family reunions and get-togethers where laughter and love filled every corner.
Family meant everything to Carmen; they were the center of her universe. Her unconditional love shone brightly through every interaction she had with her children and grandchild. Vilme Hilario, Elsie Hilario, Joey Hilario, and Alexander Julian Riffas were blessed with a mother and grandmother who showered them with affection, guidance, and support throughout their lives. Carmen's sister Ana Luz was not just a sibling but also a dear confidante who shared many treasured memories with her. Carmen will be missed by many nieces and nephews who reside in Puerto Rico.

A memorial service honoring Carmen's life will be held on October 21, 2023, at Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham, NY 10803. The service will commence at 12:00 PM and conclude at 4:00 PM. This gathering will provide an opportunity for friends and family to come together, celebrate Carmen's beautiful life, and find solace in each other's company during this time of grieving.
