Funeral Funeral Mass will be at St. Catharine's Church, 25 Second Avenue, Pelham, NY on Monday, July 22 at 10am

August J. Carideo 90, of Pelham, NY formerly of Mt. Vernon, NY died on July 18, 2013. Eldest of 5 children born to Cosmo and Angelina (Zuzolo).

He is predeceased by his wife Rose (Pellicci); sisters Josephine DeSimone, Lena Salatino, and Angelina Frusciante. He is survived by his brother Anthony Carideo (Ines), brothers-in-law; Pete Salatino and Anthony Frusciante; son August (Maria)Carideo of New Rochelle and daughter Marianne Carideo of Pelham, four grandchildren Sandra Popolizio, Lauren (Mike) Tax, AJ, and Lea Rose of New Rochelle; many cousins, God-children, nieces,nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Augie was a graduate of Edison H.S.; he proudly served in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Prairie. He was employed by Petrillo Stone Cutting and the USPS as a letter carrier in Mt. Vernon for 35 yrs. An active parishioner and usher at St. Catharine's Church he also attended mass daily at St. Joseph's in New Rochelle. Augie was a long-time member of Pelham Volunteer Fire Dept.; he rose to position of Chief, and was on the Board of the Vol.Firemen's Assoc. for many years and a long-time member of Pelham Sr, Citizens. Augie was kind, honest and fair man who always had a story; he will be sincerely missed by all those he came in contact with.

Visiting hours will be held Sat. & Sun. 2-4 and 7-9 pm at
Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham NY. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, July 22; 10:00 am at St. Catharine's Church, 25 Second Ave, Pelham NY. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,

donations may be made in his memory to St. Catharine's Church, the Wounded Warrior Program or your favorite charity.
