Arline Munsell

Arline A. Munsell passed away on July 27,2026 in Greenwich, Connecticut, surrounded by her family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength and devotion. Arline will be remembered for the love she shared with those closest to her and for the lasting impact she had on everyone who knew her.

Arline was the beloved wife of the late Raymond T. Munsell. Together they built a life centered on family, love and unwavering support for one another.

She was a devoted mother to Sarah A. Smith, Ann R. Gelfand, and Sheilah M. McCauley. She took great joy in watching her family grow and was the proud grandmother to Meghan Rolin, Libby Smith, Samantha Brock, Abbie Gelfand, Ben Gelfand, Bryan McCauley, Courtney Wall, Patrick McCauley and Peter McCauley. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family and celebrating each new generation, including her cherished great grandchildren: Axton Murray, Ari Rolin, Adia Rolin, Faye Brock,Charles IV Brock and Penelope McCauley. Arline is survived by her loving brother, Peter Suchy along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Arline is predeceased by her daughter, Sarah A. Smith, her grandson, Samuel Smith and by her sisters, Barbara Cathone and Mary Lou Allison.

Arline was a devoted teacher at Hutchinson Elementary School in Pelham, New York. For over 30 years her passion for teaching helped to mold many future generations. She was beloved by her students, their parents and her colleagues. Arline’s life was a testament to the importance of family, compassion and generosity. Her warmth, determination, strength and unwavering love will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she will be greatly missed, her memory will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.

The family is grateful for the love and support they have received during this difficult time. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Arline’s life at Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York, on Monday, August 3, 2026, between the hours of 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 575 Fowler Avenue, Pelham Manor, New York, on Tuesday August 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery in Bronx, New York.
