Anthony Healy

December 25, 1971 — December 14, 2021

Anthony (Tony) J. Healy of New York, formerly of Raheny, Dublin passed away on December 14th, 2021, just shy of his 50th birthday. Born on Christmas Day in Dublin, Tony was the eldest of two children. He was raised in Raheny where he attended Scoil Eoin National School before graduating from Ardscoil Ris. After graduating secondary school, Tony would briefly attend Inchicore College of Further Education where he studied to be a Physical Education Teacher. Tony worked part-time at the Burlington Hotel as a bar tender. It was there he would find his creativity in cocktail making and discover his many entertaining talents. Tony had a knack for impersonating actors, politician’s and anyone who crossed his path.

Tony would immigrate to New York by way of a Morrison visa and proudly became an American citizen. He continued to pursue his career as a bar tender in New York creating stories and bespoke cocktails. He loved the banter and working behind the sticks. His bar was like a theatre. He knew everyone’s drink, had quick wit and was highly entertaining. He was the life and soul of the bar. Although he loved the bar, he had an alternative creative side which included playing music, acting, or fishing on the sound. He also loved strolling Robert Moses Beach, writing music, poetry, and short stories. He was a fantastic cook and knew every good restaurant.

Tony will be remembered as a man who was too big for his heart. He left a mark on every life he touched. He was extremely thoughtful, generous and would do anything to help someone in need.

He is survived by his parents Michael and Patricia Healy, his sister Mary and his niece Kyla. He will be deeply missed by his many Uncles, Aunts, cousins, and many friends. Tony will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

A celebration of Tony’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York on Saturday, December 18th from 2-6 pm. Tony’s remains will be repatriated home to Dublin where he will be laid to rest. For more information or to leave a condolence please visit pelhamfuneral.com.
