Angela Assunta Niosi

Angela Niosi of Pelham, New York, passed away on May 5, 2026. She was 79 years old. Born in Tramonti, Province of Salerno, Italy to Alfonso Savino and Maria Amodio, Angela was one of 4 children.

Angela came to the United States at 25 years old, lived in the Wakefield neighborhood in the Bronx with her father and brother, and worked in a dress factory for a short period of time. She then met her husband Giuseppe Niosi and married in 1975 at St. Frances of Rome church in the Bronx. Then moved to Pelham, NY and raised their two children Cynthia  and Joseph.

Angela enjoyed sewing, cooking her favorite Italian dishes, tending to her tomato garden, family gatherings, warm weather days and spending time with her family. She was a humble, kind, warm and loving person. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy and she loved them immensely.

She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, Nonna and relative. She will be dearly missed.

Angela is survived by her husband, Giuseppe and her children Cynthia (Carlos) Nascimento and Joseph Niosi. She will be missed by her grandchildren Sara and Luke Nascimento. She will also be missed by her sister Rosa Savino and sister-in-law Anna Marinelli. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews here and in Italy, Alfonso, Annamaria, Orlandina, Silvana, Antonella, Mariangela, Mark, Kathy, Lisa, Matt, Francesco and Ceasar. She is predeceased by her parents, and two brothers Antonio and Orlando.

A celebration of Angela’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham NY on Monday May 18, 2026, between the hours of 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 575 Fowler Avenue, Pelham Manor, New York, on Tuesday May 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
