Loving wife and mother, long-time volunteer
Amelia B. "Millie" Lehmann of Basking Ridge, NJ, and formerly of New Rochelle, NY, passed away at Fellowship Village in Basking Ridge on May 2, 2012. She was 97.

The family will be receiving friends at the Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, NY on Sunday, May 6, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Catharine's RC Church in Pelham, NY at 10 am on Monday, May 7. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in New Rochelle, NY.

Millie was born on Feb. 27, 1915 in Flushing, NY to Joseph J. and Katharine G. Baum. She attended Newtown High School in Queens, NY and worked at Macy's in New York City after graduation. Millie volunteered as a nurse's aide during World War II.

She married Aloysius J. "Al" Lehmann in 1945 and moved to New Rochelle, where they raised five children. Millie loved to cook for the frequent family gatherings at her home. She was a volunteer Girl Scout leader for over 25 years, and she earned Girl Scouting's highest volunteer honor, the "Thanks" award in 1969. Millie was also a volunteer at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY, for ten years following her husband Al's death in 1987. She moved to the Fellowship Village retirement community in Basking Ridge, NJ in 1997.

Millie is survived by her daughter Marilyn Scagnelli of Basking Ridge; her sons Ronald Lehmann and his wife Doris, of St. Louis, MO, Joseph Lehmann and his wife Jeanne of North Andover, MA, Gerard Lehmann and his wife Lisa of San Diego, CA, and Robert Lehmann of La Mirada, CA; her sister Mary Bennett of Queens, NY; also ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Somerset Hills Hospice, 200 Mt. Airy Rd., Basking Ridge, NJ 07920, would be appreciated.
